Other than Fiction

I was listening to Cal Newport's podcast and was struck by the thought of how vast writing can be. Writing can be absolutely anything.

He was talking about David Grann who wrote Killers of the Flower Moon. He described him as an adventure journalist who has been on great, wild and crazy adventures and collects all this in his books.

When most people consider reading books, their first thought is of fiction. Yet there is so much more to writing than simply just fiction and literature.

We have poets, screenwriters, bloggers, essayists, Non fiction writers, biographers, novelists, journalists, reviewers and more.

I think that is why people become so drawn in by the idea of becoming a writer. It’s open to an infinite number of possibilities.
