Comparison Is The Thief of Joy

Julius Caesar once stood before a statue of Alexander the Great and wept. He was deflated by the thought of how much more Alexander had achieved in such a shorter period of time.

Comparison is something many of us struggle with, a tendency to compare what we have with others.

So long as you are doing all that you can do then there isn't anything else you can ask for from yourself. Don't worry about what others are doing, focus on what you can do.

Concern yourself with the things that are in your control, the things you can do on a day to day basis to progress yourself to where you want to get to.

There is only one person you need to compare yourself to and that's who you were yesterday. Can you look in the mirror and say that the person you are today is better than the one you were before?

That is the only metric you need to judge yourself by.
